We created Great Lakes People and Places to share stories about the relationship of people to places throughout the Great Lakes basin. Our wish is to promote storytelling that advocates protecting the natural environment and supporting healthy human communities. We invite your submission of an essay, poem, book review, interview or journal notes, as well as photography and artwork. The subject matter must be centered on the Laurentian Great Lakes–the people who live, work or recreate in the basin, the natural and cultural history and the unique relationships and attachments people have with our lovely lakes and coasts. All submissions will be considered by the website team and acceptance or rejection notifications promptly sent via email.
